New-season corsages come with cool-girl factor, as demonstrated by Sophie Turner, who sported a cropped scarlet jacket by Magda Butrym adorned with ruffled roses for the unveiling of her husband Joe Jonas’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Corsages made an unexpected comeback on the spring-summer 2023 runways at Prada, Chopova Lowena, Dries Van Noten, and Bottega Veneta (to name a few). But these modern florals are far from fusty.
The top half of her outfit was giving modern-day Carrie Bradshaw (famously a fan of a bold corsage), but the bottom half—skinny red trousers, also by Butrym—called to mind Jane Fonda’s retro fitness videos. The outfit counts among Sophie Turner’s most out-there looks to date.
Turner isn’t the first to embrace florals ahead of spring. Bella Hadid is backing corsages too (she wore a denim corset decorated with a gothic rose last year), as is Kylie Jenner, who embraced the trend in a Tippex-white latex Coperni dress embellished with 3D blooms. Kendall Jenner, meanwhile, wore a sheer dress straight off Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s spring-summer 2023 runway earlier this month, which featured a delicate anthurium at the neckline.
