Irina Shayk wore a showstopping see-through mesh maxidress to British Vogue‘s Forces for Change dinner in London over the weekend. Despite its high neckline, the Alaïa body-con dress revealed bits of the Russian supermodel’s skin through black open mesh embellished with a 3D scalloped panel running along the front and back.
She styled the look with a burgundy lip and voluminous, pre-Raphaelite-inspired curls.
Shayk made the look even more sensual in an artful pair of Alaïa sandals featuring a heel sculpted to look like a taut derriere and toned set of legs. The shoe is designer Pieter Mulier’s homage to an iconic style created by the late Azzedine Alaïa in 1991.

Shayk is rumored to be getting back together with her former partner Bradley Cooper, with whom she shares a daughter. The couple split in 2019, but last month the two were spotted walking their dogs in New York City. And in August, Shayk shared vacation photos in which the exes appeared cozy together. Since their 2019 split, she was previously connected to Kanye West.
Irina Shayk’s Alaïa gown was reminiscent of a sheer black maxidress friend and fellow model Emily Ratajkowski donned for a Swarovski holiday event last month. Sheer gowns have been all the rage on red carpets recently—Ratajkowski even wore one to run errands earlier this year. Elsewhere, celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, Taylor Swift, Jenna Ortega, and Mindy Kaling have been putting their own spin on the trend with long sleeves, beads, floral appliqués, and mesh. Some stars have been maximizing the look’s impact by going braless, while others have found ways to incorporate coverage underneath.
