Kate Middleton Put an Elegant Spin on Spring Florals While Wearing a Gift From King Charles

Kate Middleton just attended the annual Commonwealth Service for the first time as the Princess of Wales and made sure to give a sartorial shoutout to the new king.

On March 13, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the service at Westminster Abbey with the rest of the royal family. Though the Princess of Wales has been favoring recycled pieces from her wardrobe at recent events, she opted for a new Erdem suit from the British designer’s upcoming collection. The navy design features a midlength flared skirt and peplum blazer with sparse white floral embroidery.

Kate Middleton paired the elegant suit with blue suede pointed-toe heels and a matching wide-brim hat with bow detail. For accessories, she wore one of her favorite jewelry combinations: Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond drop earrings that perfectly complement her famous engagement ring.

But those weren’t the only item from the royal archives that made an appearance. The princess also wore the Wales Feather Brooch that Lady Di used to wear as a necklace. According to , the brooch was previously gifted to Middleton by King Charles, making it a sentimental nod to both her mother- and father-in-law, as well as her updated title. For the look, it appears Middleton removed the emerald drop from the pin, which has also been worn by the Queen Consort.
