From ’90s Jean Paul Gaultier to Tom Ford–era Gucci, Kendall Jenner has built an impressive vintage collection in recent years. Now the model has added another rare piece of fashion history to her archives: namely, a baby-blue slip dress from Stella McCartney’s tenure at Chloé.
Sourced via Tab Vintage, Jenner’s lace-trimmed halter dress is from Chloé’s spring-summer 1998 show and was originally worn on the runway by none other than Naomi Campbell. The collection marked McCartney’s debut at the French fashion house, where she was named creative director at the age of just 25, and saw the likes of Kate Moss and Yasmin Le Bon on the catwalk, as well as her father, Paul McCartney, and his Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr on the front row.

It’s no surprise that Kendall Jenner has decided to invest in McCartney’s Chloé era, given the renewed interest in the designer’s time at the brand. Bella Hadid sparked the trend back in 2021, when she was spotted in an asymmetric top featuring the brand’s logo emblazoned down the side in fuzzy pink lettering. Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo recently opted for a pair of horse-printed trousers from McCartney’s spring-summer 2001 collection at Chloé—previously worn by Carrie Bradshaw in season four of Sex and the City—at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards in March.
Even McCartney herself can’t resist the nostalgic pull of the ’90s, with the designer reviving her low-slung trousers and trademark horse print in recent seasons at her eponymous brand. “My daughter, who’s 15, all she does now is go into my closet and take all my original things,” the designer previously told British Vogue fashion critic Anders Christian Madsen. “She just wants the ’90s.” With an archive like McCartney’s, who could blame her?
