Shopbop is easily one of our favorite shopping destinations—its curation of labels spans high and low designers, its fashion editorials provide ample inspiration, and there’s always a new label to discover before it goes mass-market. Expect to feel the same way about Shopbop Beauty, which launches on October 3 and welcomes a vetted selection of brands across skin, makeup, hair care, and beauty tools to the retailer’s site and app.
“We see the complementary relationship between fashion and beauty as an essential pairing for every unique look,” says Stephanie Roberson, chief merchandising officer for Shopbop. The retailer, which is a subsidy of Amazon, isn’t the first—nor will it be the last—to bring beauty brands into the fashion fold, but there is something particularly satisfying about shopping a head-to-toe look and having it arrive to your doorstep in a matter of days. “Launching beauty is a natural extension to our existing fashion offering as we continuously seek out opportunities to inspire our customer’s personal style, and celebrate self-expression,” Roberson says. This means that the next time you’re shopping for a Kika Vargas party dress or looking for a patchwork Sea knit to wear to work, you can also find the hair and makeup you need to complete your ’fit.
So what beauty brands can you expect to encounter on Shopbop? In the skin care realm, you’ll find top-rated products from Dr. Barbara Sturm, Joanna Vargas, Dr. Loretta, and Augustinus Bader. In the hair care space, you’ll discover beloved shampoos, conditioners, and leave-in treatments from the likes Briogeo, Ouai, and Olaplex. And then there are plenty of luxurious body cleansers and scrubs from Costa Brazil, alongside makeup from Laura Mercier, Uoma Beauty, Kevyn Aucoin, and Mented.
