Four must be her lucky number! For her wedding weekend in Cabo San Lucas, gymnast Simone Biles donned not one, not two, but four special gowns…the same number as she has Olympic gold medals in her collection. Sadly, she did not accessorize each gown with a different gold medal, which I totally would have done if it were me, but Simone is classier than I am, so.
Biles and her husband, football player Jonathan Owens, became legally married in April 2023 in a courthouse ceremony in Texas, which isn’t uncommon for couples who plan to have their big bash outside the US (just makes everything easier, legality-wise). For that occasion, she wore a $120 tiered dress from the online shop Selfie Leslie.

For Cabo, she packed a whole other suitcase (one imagines) just for Bridal Lewks. At the rehearsal, she wore a Galia Lahav JILL mini with spaghetti straps, then a custom gown from the same designer to walk down the aisle. She also donned two Galia Lahav frocks for her reception: a body-hugging style and then a dance-friendly number.

In an interview held during her final dress fitting with Lahav, Biles opened up about her thought process when choosing her gown(s). “I like the sheer, I like how it fits, and then the little pearl details, I love the pearls. If there’s something else I wanted at my wedding, it’s flowers and pearls,” Biles said.
Lahav suggested a tight bodice and leg slit to add the appearance of length to Biles’ small frame. “I was nervous about having a ball gown because I’m so petite—but it works perfect,” said the bride. “The leg slit was very crucial. It was to add, in my head, more length to my body. I think this is exactly how brides are supposed to feel–luxurious, beautiful, kind of on top of the world.”
