Meghan Markle was spotted out with Prince Harry wearing a chic but casual summer outfit in Santa Barbara on Friday, June 30. Her overall look is giving ’90s-mom vibes, but the quiet luxury version. In essence, it feels like something Meredith Blake, the evil girlfriend from 1997’s The Parent Trap would wear, which sounds mean but is actually the highest compliment, as Meredith was a certified style icon.
The former member of the UK’s royal family kicked off her Fourth of July weekend in the ’90s-mom look which, per Page Six, featured a white button-down from Anine Bing tucked into a pair of chocolate-brown high-waist linen shorts from Reformation (at the time of writing this, I already had a tab open on Reformation dot com). Currently the shirt is still available at Saks for $199, while these perfect summer shorts would run you $128.
Markle styled the look with a gold-buckled light brown belt, black sunglasses, and a white straw hat with dark brown trim. She also wore a bundle of bracelets on one wrist and a pair of slides. The look is tailored but comfortable, which is very Meghan Markle, as are the neutral earthy tones. Meanwhile, Harry was there too, wearing a casual polo shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap. This outing was the couple’s first appearance since their multimillion-dollar deal with Spotify was put to an end in June when Markle’s podcast Archetypes, in which she interviewed influential women, such as close friend Serena Williams, was canceled. Spotify announced that the decision was mutual, though some sources have said the music streamer was disappointed that the couple only produced one podcast. Per , the couple will pay back a portion of the money from their deal and are shopping for another company to host podcast collabs.
For now, they both looked relaxed and ready for a (mostly) drama-free summer.
