The Princess of Wales, a.k.a. Kate Middleton, is known for her allegiance to the court shoe (pumps, in the US)—specifically, Jimmy Choo’s Romy style, which she has worn numerous times over the years. Today, though, Kate swapped her favorite heels for another trending shoe: the ballet flat.

While A-listers have sported styles from Chanel, Miu Miu, and The Row of late, Kate opted for a pair of pointed black suede flats from Boden—a brand that’s long been one of her go-tos—for a visit to the Baby Bank in Windsor. The royal teamed the ballet pumps with a double-breasted blazer by Reiss, a white scoop-neck top, and black cropped trousers, finishing off the look with gold hoop earrings and a citrine necklace by Daniella Draper.

Although Kate Middleton is more regularly seen in heels, she’s no stranger to the ballet flat. A decade ago the royal was regularly seen in her French Sole pumps, later adding a pair of two-tone flats by Camilla Elphick to her wardrobe at the Royal Charity Polo Cup back in September.

Given Kate’s penchant for rewearing classic wardrobe staples (she’s already worn today’s Reiss jacket twice before), we wouldn’t be surprised to see her Boden ballet flats on heavy rotation in the months to come. While her black suede shoes have already sold out, you can still find the style in other colors, including this classic olive.
