All black everything? You can take Emily Ratajkowski out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of Emily Ratajkowski.
The annual British Vogue x Self-Portrait soirée in London is perpetually a magnet for fashion insiders and A-listers. This year was no different, with the event receiving stellar patronage, thanks to cohosts Edward Enninful, who is editor in chief of British Vogue and European editorial director of Vogue; Han Chong, founder and creative director of Self-Portraitl and EmRata herself.
The guest list was nothing short of impressive, featuring the likes of Rita Ora, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Hari Nef, and British Vogue’s August cover girl, Maya Jama. Ratajkowski’s all-black summer look, however, stood out amidst the sea of glimmering, colorful dresses.
At the star-studded event at Chiltern Firehouse, the model and My Body author wore an all-black ensemble that was glamorous but with a risqué edge. The look—which was head-to-toe Self-Portrait, naturally—comprised a black velvet ankle-length dress with cut-outs, crystal embellishments, and a daring thigh-high slit down the front. Ratajkowski paired her LBD with black open-toe platform sandals and a black mini bag adorned with the brand’s signature metallic bow motif.
Dressing in all black is making waves this summer among trendsetters like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, and Dua Lipa. To prevent overheating, choose designs that expose a bit of skin and are more breathable, much like Emily Ratajkowski’s Vogue party LBD.
