Fashion probably wasn’t the most important topic discussed at Selena Gomez’s Rare Impact benefit gala on October 4, but we do need to talk about the flowery, girly, and extremely sparkly gowns the Rare Beauty founder wore to the event.
Styled by the inimitable Erin Walsh, Gomez appeared in a total of three looks over the course of the evening, including a long-sleeve Monse minidress with a botanical print that she wore onstage, a shimmering purple frock shaped like a large lotus flower, and—the pièce de résistance—a crystal-encrusted silver gown with a crystal flower appliqué at the neck. The dazzling dress was perfectly fitted to Gomez’s figure, and featured a short train and halter neck. (When she made time for all of these costume changes, I do not know.)
Gomez accessorized all three looks with a pair of silver statement earrings and a new bob haircut—because it is the law that all celebrities get a bob now.
Per the fund’s website, Selena Gomez started the Rare Impact Fund, which supports mental health services for young people, after her own struggles with mental health. “I went a long time without the mental health support I needed because I didn’t understand what I was feeling,” she wrote.
