Walmart has debuted its first-ever market fulfillment center (MFC) located at 406 S Walton Blvd in Bentonville, Arkansas.
This groundbreaking center, nestled within Walmart’s Store 100, is powered by an exclusive storage and retrieval system known as Alphabot.
The primary objective of the MFC is to significantly increase the quantity of orders the store can fulfill daily, ensuring faster fulfillment times and minimizing product substitutions.
As an added benefit, Walmart+ members can enjoy free unlimited delivery services.
The implementation of Alphabot technology also aims to enhance the in-store shopping experience by freeing up associates to assist customers within the store.
This means that associates have more time to focus on serving customers and supporting one another.
Furthermore, the Alphabot system creates new leadership opportunities within stores, including the newly established role of MFC lead.
It also offers employees the chance to learn and develop skills in cutting-edge technologies.
“We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation to provide our customers with a truly exceptional shopping experience across all platforms,” remarked Prathibha Rajashekar, senior vice president of innovation and automation at Walmart.
“By leveraging technology, we can help our customers and associates save valuable time, which ultimately enhances the experience for everyone while advancing our overall business.”.
