Sorel, a brand owned by Columbia Sportswear Company, is relocating its headquarters to Washington.
The new headquarters will be situated in an exclusive single-use building on the Columbia Sportswear Company’s Washington county campus.
Previously, it was based in a historic building in Downtown Portland.
The relocation of the Sorel headquarters is seen as a significant milestone for the brand.
Mark Nenow, president of Sorel, expressed his excitement about the move, stating, ‘We thrive on shared creative energy to drive design, marketing, and distribution of amazing function-first fashion footwear.
All for our unstoppable consumer.
Everything emanates now from Sorel’s new headquarters home.’
The move comes as Columbia Sportswear announced a 12% increase in revenues for the first half of 2022.
Sorel is expected to contribute significantly to this growth, with projected revenue of $220 million this year, fueled by the success of its women’s business.
According to Tim Boyle, CEO of Columbia Sportswear Company, the acquisition of the Sorel brand in 2000 has led to its transformation from a small Canadian company known for men’s winter work and snowboard boots to a rapidly growing female-first brand that offers a range of stylish products, from sandals to wedges to sneakers to boots.
Boyle attributes this success to the creativity and drive of Sorel’s employees.
In addition to Sorel, Columbia Sportswear Company also owns the Mountain Hardwear brand..
