**Meta is shutting down Bulletin, its Substack competitor, less than two years after its launch.**

Bulletin was launched in June 2021 as a way for writers to publish newsletters and charge subscribers for access. It was seen as Meta’s attempt to take on Substack, a popular platform for independent writers.
However, Bulletin has struggled to gain traction since its launch. It has been criticized for its lack of features and its high fees. As of October 2022, Bulletin had only around 100,000 subscribers, compared to Substack’s 1 million.
