Tracksmith launches first international store in London
U.S. running brand Tracksmith has opened its first store in London, marking the launch of its debut overseas retail location.
Located in London’s Marylebone district, the 1,700-square-foot space spans two levels of retail space, and boasta a patio garden and a coffee bar for patrons to experience.
The new Tracksmith store will first open as a pop-up from September 20 to October 7, before reopening as a permanent location.
The Marylebone store will be the first Tracksmith shop outside the U.S., complementing its flagship store located in Boston.
“We’ve seen incredible interest in the community events we’ve held in London over the past several years, alongside strong sales from the UK market since our earliest days,” Tracksmith founder and CEO Matt Taylor, told Runner’s World.
“So when we decided to expand our retail footprint beyond Boston, London was an obvious and exciting choice. Tracksmith has long been inspired by the style and heritage of British athletics, but London also represents one of the most modern, diverse, vibrant, and competitive running communities in the world. We’re tremendously excited to join that community with a permanent presence in Marylebone and hope to support and add to it in a meaningful way”.
Established in 2014, Tracksmith currently sells direct-to-consumer via its website and also has wholesale partners in the U.S., including Mill City Running and Brooklyn Running Company. It launched a dedicated UK site in 2018.
