Located on Greenwich Avenue, in Greenwich, the 2,972-square-foot retail space boasts Allbirds’ sustainable ethos, via its minimal store design, and “evokes the natural world with the use of locally sourced materials,” according to a press release.

Inside, touchpoints display Allbirds’ natural materials such as merino wool, sugarcane and eucalyptus tree fiber. Customers can also see the carbon footprint of each product clearly displayed.

Outside, the existing storefront was reused, while multiple existing conditions inside the space were retained as well, such as product shelving, existing lighting, bathrooms and floor tiles.

The wall tiles, engage zone and modular rails all use regionally sourced Douglas

As for products, customers can check out new products, like the new style-forward Riser, as well as favorites like the Tree Runner and the Wool Runner.

“We are very excited to open in Connecticut, as it has long been on our wish-list.” said Tim Brown, Allbirds co-founder and co-CEO. “We already know many locals through their commutes into New York City, and thought it was about time we came home with them.”

In its most recent trading up, Allbirds Inc. announced in March a revenue uptick of 7% to $297.8 million for the year 2022, despite a 13% decrease in fourth-quarter sales to $84.2 million.

Coinciding with the earnings update, Allbirds announced the appointment of Annie Mitchell to the role of chief financial officer, effective April 24. Mitchell will succeed Mike Bufano, who will be stepping down from Allbirds and will remain with the company through mid-May to ensure a smooth transition.

The new Connecticut store opens May 11.
