Florence Pugh is not sartorially shy. The Oscar nominee’s latest look includes a completely sheer sequined skirt, paired with matching underwear (not sequined). Although this is certainly not the first time the Little Women star has opted for literal transparency, this is a new welcome extreme for her. Perhaps this is Rita Ora’s influence?
On Sunday, March 5, Pugh attended the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week in the aforementioned sheer sequined skirt, which included a delicate train embellished with silver flowers. Pugh paired the dramatic and feminine Valentino skirt with a cropped gray sweatshirt (the kind I would wear to a workout), with silver embellishments at the collar. She also carried a sparkly silver clutch, because there’s no such thing as too much sparkle. Pugh wore her hair up in a tight messy bun and wore a spring-inspired makeup look which included subtle black winged eyeliner paired with rosy matte lipstick and a pink flush.
Florence Pugh has developed a close relationship with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. Together they’re elevating the sheer trend. You may recall back in July 2022 when Pugh wore a hot pink Valentino gown with a sheer bodice that exposed her nipples and her thong (although not as much as the more recently worn look). “I’ve never been scared of what’s underneath the fabric,” Pugh told about the look earlier this year. “If I’m happy in it, then I’m gonna wear it. Of course, I don’t want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much?”
