Taylor Swift’s latest look is both Miss Americana and Heartbreak Prince.
Somehow the 33-year-old pop star continues to hit up New York City between Eras Tour stops, giving fans a better grasp at her current sense of style beyond her glitzy stage looks. As with her music, Swift’s approach to fashion has gone through notable changes over the years, with British Vogue reporting that the Midnights artist is currently embracing a breezy girl-next-door wardrobe for summer 2023.
What does that mean, exactly? In May the Pennsylvania-born singer stepped out in an all-white eyelet crop top and midi skirt by all-American designer Ralph Lauren. Though she had on her signature red lip, she kept the vibe casual with a simple ponytail and flat strappy sandals. The outfit before that, Swift rocked an oversized white button-up, frayed black denim shorts, and effortless camel-colored accessories, including another pair of sandals.
Basically, Swift wouldn’t look out of place at any backyard barbecue being thrown at this very moment. Even her nighttime looks have been chill, with Swift pairing her black halter-neck jumpsuit and heels with a laid-back low bun for a June night out at Nobu with bestie Gigi Hadid.
Taylor Swift’s latest look is definitely keeping with this fresh, nonchalant attitude, but adds a few unexpected twists. On June 26, the singer gave a light blue pleated miniskirt a boyish edge with an oversized striped button-up, worn gray baseball cap, and a pair of chunky Malone Souliers lace-up shoes we’d be more likely to see on Wednesday Addams than the “Dear John” singer. Of course, she balanced out the grunge shoes with some sweet lettuce-hem crew socks, gold hoops, her favorite red lipstick, and a gray Le Petit Patou shoulder bag.
And yet this look feels unfussy despite how much is actually going on, partially thanks to its muted color palette and Swift’s undone waves. Honestly, this may be her best summer look yet.
