UK’s Garbstore links with Simple for shoe collab

Garbstore, the menswear/lifestyle brand that forms half of a London creative concept store shared with womenswear brand Couverture, has announced a collaboration with Californian footwear brand Simple.

Garbstore X Simple OS

They’ve launched an updated version of the original Simple sneaker as “a tribute shoe celebrating the 90’s era”, when it was first launched.

And the campaign’s message should resonate with consumers, with its banner headline reading: ‘Life isn’t Simple… but your shoes can be’.

We’re told the design of the Garbstore X Simple OS “is an exercise in nostalgia with a freshness that feels just as at home in ‘23 as it did in ’91”. That’s likely to be a particularly strong message at the moment given the current love of all things 1990s.

With the original sneaker described as “an icon in the skateboarding community of the ‘90s”, the OS Sneaker “has evolved a culture of its own as a perfect casual shoe for everyday wear” while maintaining the original’s “clean, minimalist, comfortable and easy-on-the-planet” concept.

The new sneaker uses original colour shades from the brand’s early 90’s product catalogues alongside a subtle embossed logo detailing.

The multi-panelled shoe is crafted using premium suede, upcycled rubber and a recycled PU foam insole for extra comfort.

The campaign draws inspiration from everyday accidents and plays with the Simple footwear name and its ethos that “in a world that’s more chaotic than ever, we’re proud to be Simple”.

The shoe will be available to purchase in its Notting Hill store and online at couvertureandthegarbstore.com from 27 July for £125.
