Dries Van Noten’s new, 60-square-metre store is located at 9 quai Malaquais, and adjoins the boutique showcasing the label’s menswear line, opened in 2009 on the same street. Both
In 2007, a little further away on the other side of rue Bonaparte, at 7 quai Malaquais, the Flemish designer had opened his Parisian flagship, dedicated to women’s ready-to-wear.
The new store’s interior design, featuring period furniture, a contemporary Venetian chandelier and a 17th century Flemish tapestry, has been painstakingly curated by Van Noten himself, as the label indicated in a press release. The white marble floor is complemented by poufs and curtains in golden yellow velvet, and by the display cabinets’ brass accents.
The store commercialises the label’s new beauty range, launched just over a year ago in March 2022 and featuring an extensive collection of lipsticks and fragrances, as well as line extensions like combs, mirrors, hand creams and soaps.
A special section within the store showcases a selection of men’s and women’s accessories, from handbags to small leather goods, jewellery, scarves, eyewear and footwear. Finally, archive items from the label’s past collections are displayed in a dark cabinet with shelves.
The new address is the 11th monobrand store operated by Dries Van Noten worldwide. The label is also present in Paris at Le Bon Marché department store.
