Minnie Mouse has been a pop culture icon for decades. When you picture the Disney mascot, you’re probably imagining her in her red dress with white polka dots and puffy sleeves and, of course, her signature matching bow that sits between her mouse ears.
At the 30th-year celebration for Disneyland Paris, Minnie Mouse will ditch the dress in favor of her first-ever pantsuit. And the pantsuit is coming from fashion designer Stella McCartney.
Disneyland Paris shared a first look at the design on its official Twitter page on Tuesday, January 25:

The pantsuit swaps out the typical red and white palette Minnie Mouse has always been known for in exchange for a dark blue and black ensemble. But the one thing that hasn’t changed? Polka dots and bows. Minnie Mouse’s pantsuit, which features a tailored blazer and trousers, is covered in dark polka dots. In addition to the matching bow on Minnie’s head, there are two small bows on the front of the blazer.
Designer Stella McCartney spoke to D23, Disney’s official fan club, about the design. “Minnie has always had a special place in my heart,” McCartney said. “We share the same values. What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity, and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style!”
McCartney also explained the details and significance of the pantsuit design. “This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation,” she said. “This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation. She will wear it in honor of Women’s History Month in March 2022. I can’t wait for you to see this new look at Walt Disney Studios Park!”
The Disneyland Paris’s 30th-year celebration kicks off on March 6.
