“Skechers has always achieved an excellent growth rate in the Spanish market. In the last six months, we have registered a new increase in sales, which has encouraged us even more to develop new plans that we believe will contribute to maintaining this trend in the future,” said Txerra Díaz, country manager of Skechers USA Iberia, S.L., the subsidiary with which the brand operates in Spain.
The brand’s new store on Madrid’s Gran Vía carries its footwear, clothing and accessories collections and, while incorporating the Skechers retail concept, also features Spain’s traditional architecture and interior design.
“Skechers plans to reach $10 billion in annual sales by 2026. To achieve this goal, we will continue to invest in key markets, with initiatives such as expanding our European distribution center and strategically opening major retail stores, such as this new flagship store in Madrid,” said David Weinberg
“We believe in our products and in the future of our brand in Spain, and we believe this store will serve as a critical building block in the growth of our business in the country,” he added.
Following this store opening, Skechers now boasts 61 single-brand stores in Spain (company-owned and franchised), 14 of which are located in Madrid.
With a presence in 180 countries through its more than 4,355 stores, the Los Angeles-based brand posted record sales in the second quarter, with revenues of 1.77 billion euros, up 12.4% year-on-year.
