Reitmans to launch new online marketplace
Canadian fashion retailer Reitmans is getting into the marketplace business with the launch of RCL Market, slated to make its debut this fall with its three brands Reitmans, Penningtons and Rw&Co.
RCL Market will offer handpicked quality value products offered by partner brands and will be powered by Mirakl, an advanced enterprise marketplace SaaS platform.

“Over the last few years, our e-commerce business has grown exponentially and RCL Market will further transform the way our customers shop online,” said Jackie Tardif, president of the Reitmans brand and executive sponsor of the RCL Market Project.
“We are proudly Canadian owned and operated, thriving to constantly evolve. We have the largest market share in both women’s and women’s Plus specialty retailing with Reitmans, Penningtons and Rw&Co., attracting 1 in 3 Canadian women to shop our nationally recognized brands. We also serve the men’s market with Rw&co.’s unique work from anywhere attire.”
Reitmans is not the first Canadian retailer to step into the marketplace business. In March, The Bay introduced a new marketplace format welcoming over 500 new sellers and introducing significantly-expanded product categories.
Earlier this month, Reitmans announced that it has emerged from creditor protection after nearly two years and $95 million paid. The Montreal-based company currently operates 412 stores consisting of 242 Reitmans, 92 Penningtons and 78 Rw&Co.
