It was back to work for Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, today, following a tumultuous few weeks that have seen the release of the six-part documentary series Harry & Meghan and the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell memoir,
For the engagement in Merseyside, England, Catherine reverted to trusty wardrobe staples, including a tartan Holland & Cooper coat that she first wore in November 2021, when she met a war veteran to mark Remembrance Day, and more recently to plant a tree in Queen Elizabeth II’s memory at Westminster Abbey in December 2022. The royal paired the checked outerwear with a navy knitted dress underneath, and Mulberry’s Amberley bag in forest green, which she has been pictured with several times in the past.
It’s perhaps no surprise that Kate Middleton has chosen to revisit old favorites for today’s visit, given the turbulent period the royal family is going through. Of course, the princess has long been known for recycling her wardrobe—more recently choosing to rewear looks more closely together, sending out a strong message on the importance of sustainability.
The message is clear: No matter what you’ve read about her over the past week, from her point of view, it’s very much business as usual.
