Since becoming the Princess of Wales in September, Kate Middleton has made sure to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana—particularly when it comes to her jewelry. During the official mourning period following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, the royal wore Diana’s Collingwood pearl earrings, as well as a four-strand pearl choker that was loaned to the Princess of Wales for Her Majesty’s funeral.
For a Remembrance Day service this month, Kate also chose to wear Diana’s diamond and South Sea pearl earrings featuring a horseshoe motif. Most recently, at the first state visit hosted by King Charles III, the Princess debuted a feather brooch that had been worn a number of times by her late mother-in-law, in a move that was packed full of symbolism.
Of course, Kate has often paid tribute to Diana over the years, even before she took on her new title—most notably, via the sapphire and diamond engagement ring that was famously worn by the former Princess of Wales.
